Norma Seward


Norma Seward, an Ocean Springs artist and resident of the
Mississippi Gulf Coast for 40 years, has been a very active in the Ocean Springs Art Association. She is past president and current board member of the OSAA. She is also a member of the Singing River Art Association and on the board of the Mississippi At Colony. Her work has been featured in exhibits throughout the region, including the George Ohr Museum, Laurel Rogers Museum of Art, William Carey College and Gulf Coast Community College. Her work appears extensively in private and corporate collections, including the Coca Cola Regional Art Collection. Her works have won many awards in a variety of competitions.

Seward majored in art at Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Missouri, and at the University of New Mexico. Her art education has continued at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Louisiana Tech Watercolor Encounters, the Ringling School of Art, and a William Hook workshop in Taos, New Mexico, and at many other art workshops.

Seward works in all media in an impressionistic, semiabstract to nonobjective style. She believes that the journey of art is a lifetime of commitment and discovery that requires continuous redefinition, study and nurture.

 

 

 



Seward's work is currently shown at A-1 Gallery, Hattiesburg, MS, at the Ocean Springs Lumber Company, and at The Art House.
