Mary-Pat Forrest

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Scottish born Mary-Pat Forrest (MP as she is known) now hails from Biloxi, Mississippi. Work and travels have taken her to many parts of the world providing inspiration for her paintings. MP's love of life is captured in her art by her use of light and colour in the 'everydayness' of the subjects, reminiscent of the Ashcan school of painting.
Despite losing both her home and studio in Katrina, she continued to paint, encouraged and supported by her dear 'Englishman' Tony & made possible in part through grants from Mississippi Arts Commission, Andy Warhol Foundation, CAC New Orleans, Sweet Arts, New York and other generous donations.

Five years after Katrina, MP moved into a beautiful home with a dream studio and gallery which is a design/ build collaboration with wonderful young architects from around the USA.

MP's work is commissioned and collected in several countries.
